Sitting by the window in the sitting room watching squirrels scamper across the back fence, or watching snow- when we used to have snow in London- fall. My own little oasis in the back garden. Having coffee on a Sunday morning in the back garden forgetting I′m in the middle of a large city or that just down the road is a busy street. Sitting on the stairs on the top floor watching first flakes of snow falling on the window in the roof, making Macaroni cheese with my son in the kitchen, cutting daffs and lillies from the garden in the summer. The sense of peace and safety once I′ve closed the front door.
Why are you moving?I′m moving because of a change of lifestyle. I′ve reached the magical retirement age and hope to spend more time a sunnier warmer climate.
What do you love about the area?I loved being able to walk to the tennis centre for my weekly sauna on Sunday mornings. Being able to walk a couple of hundred yards to the local shops and cafes that transport you to a different world, that′s just down the end of the road. Being able to walk to Islington Angel or Kings Cross or Camden Town or hop on a bus to Finsbury park. I loved being able to walk to Camden Garden Centre. I love the fact that in spring a garden centre opens within sight of my front garden or that at Christmas time I can walk a few yards and buy a Christmas tree. I loved the friendly neighbours I had who have all unfortunately either moved away or passed on.
